Actually, Steven, I just went to their site for the first time in months and I see they've finally taken the subscription barrier down. Good on 'em!

Clicking through the links, I also see that they now show up in Google. Probably because some off their pages index now. Go figure.

Perhaps hearing the publisher of the New York Times speculate that the print version of that paper might no longer exist in 5 years and that they were doing away with their online paid access service might have influenced folks at the Savannah Business Journal?

Chris,

Great feedback. I just moved here from
Manhattan. I am trying to find busines
that are expanding. Looking for movers & Shakers. My friend in New york suggested the local business paper. I searched and found your blog. Nice work I know things moved a little slower down south but this mentality here is really to a crawl. So how do I find it? lol

Yeah, Robert. When I started blogging Googling Chris Cree got lots of hits about a world class scrabble champion (and owner of chriscree.com - Drat! :) ) and a musician named Chris Cree Brown. Now I'm near the top of the list thanks to blogging.

I should add another

[Note to the Business Report & Journal: There's a conversation going on about your business and you aren't part of it. Do you even know it's happening?]

Chris, good one! In fact, open accountability and reputation management are two of the reasons I started blogging in the first place. I figured if anyone was going to search for "what's Robert Hruzek like", then I ought to have some say-so in what they find, right?

When I started blogging in June '06, my name generally produced about 150 Google hits. Today it tops 11,500! (Hit #1 is Middle Zone Musings)

Keep up the good work!

Steve, you are so right. Facts don't lie and evaluating the effectiveness of marketing is pretty straight forward. You may have felt a little confused by that discussion, but I'm here to say you weren't the one that was lost.

Jim, I hear they might have a postal address...

Bravo Chris. Perhaps you could get and interview with the editor and post it. Oh wait...how do I find the editor again?

I was in the session at the Un-Conference the Business Journal person attended. This purpose of this set was pretty focused: business blogging, aka marketing. Marketing tools are pretty simple to evaluate. They work are they don't....scoreboard baby!

The pubs person got into off-the-wall, irrelevant theory about what purist blogging should be. In addition to being irrelevant, she insisted on monopolizing the conversation. I was lost? Why was she talking about this stuff? And now we get this weird take on a very valuable event from the Business Journal?
