Book Review: Publish & Prosper – Blogging For Your Business

There aren’t many books yet written on the subject of business blogging. However I’ve found a great one for folks who are looking at possibly starting a blog for their business.

Publish and Prosper: Blogging for Your Business is a great introduction to business blogging written by DL Byron & Steve Broback of Blog Business Summit.

The paperback is only about 180 pages long so it is a quick read. The content is informative and laid out in a way that makes it easy to get an overview of what is required to start blogging for your business. And they’ve included lots of screen shots to help explain all the things they talk about more clearly.

The authors do a wonderful job of walking that fine line between keeping things simple for those who are completely new to the blogging scene while at the same time providing enough meat for those who are serious about getting started blogging for their business.

They have chapters that cover topics such as:

  • An introduction to blogging
  • Working out your blogging focus
  • A realistic appraisal of resource requirements for business blogging
  • Blog design considerations
  • Blogging tools and implementation
  • Some hints and tips for good blog writing
  • How to get started marketing your blog
  • Measuring your blogging results
  • Added capabilities

The bottom line is this: I highly recommend this book for everyone interested in learning the basics of what business blogging is all about.

The Best Part

And here’s the best part. At their blog, they still say they are giving away free copies of the book!

I got my copy that way. Now they say it takes 2-4 weeks to get your free copy. It took significantly longer for my copy to come in. (In fact it was so long that I forgot where I got it from when it arrived. But I sure don’t mind waiting a bit for free stuff.)

They reserve the right to refuse to send the book to anyone, and they may stop giving away the book at any time.

So you can request your free copy and take your chances. Or you can click on one of the links above and have Amazon.com send you a copy right away.

Regardless of which way you decide to go, do yourself a favor and get a hold of a copy of this book. You’ll be glad you did.

I recommend this book to all my clients. I don’t feel like this is the best book ever written on blogging. But it sure is as good of a beginner’s guide as I think there is. Anyone who’s just beginning or wanting to begin blogging – get this book.
