All of the time! Well, on average, several hours each day. I've come to the realization that learning is life long -- there is always something new to learn that can be applied each day.

So much time. I have to. I develop websites for people so I HAVE to remain up to date with my skills and the latest technologies. Taking a week off is like taking 6 months off in my field.

Considering I juggle so many things at once it is hard to quantify.

I can say I watch television less than 2 hours per week. I have at least 2 books I am reading at a time, one business and one spiritual. I am involved in the community as a way to learn what is going on and how I can contribute and I attend 2-3 events per month (this needs increase soon). I read blogs, twitters and google alerts about my industry on a constant basis.

However I think it is important that the bulk of my time is spent working with my clients. That is not only what pays the bills but where I have learned so much more than I could ever read about or hear about at a seminar.

I couldn't tell you the number of hours but I spend a LOT of time every week. Heck I wouldn't be surprised if the time I spend studying during a week was more than some semesters I experienced in college.

We have a local technology council that combines networking opportunities and
educational topic and I make it a habit to go to several a month. Next I subscribe
many blogs and podcasts of an instructional nature. I have quite a few technical manuals as well. Another thing I do is look for opportunities to teach either through give presentations to local business groups or writing to my "teaching blog" at http://www.unravelingtounderstand.com
This helps me actively learn while I teach concepts to others.
