To be mentally in the call can be hard at times and this is because when your away there are so many things playing on your mind.

I always call people in the night when I’m done with everything.

I think that with technology there are so many things that can be done easily, but then one has to find the right time.

Hey Jerry! I’m here to tell that the extra effort to communicate is critical if the relationship is going to survive. I always figured that being married would make things like that easier. But the reality is that sometimes it is even harder because we can fall into the trap of taking the other person for granted. Welcome to SC! Please feel free to rummage around.

So right on. I travel a lot for work (I’m a TV producer) and talk to my boyfriend a lot more when I am on the road than when I am at home. We also make sure to say goodnight to each other as if we were at home together even if we are 3,000 miles away. It’s still hard as hell to be away but making an extra effort to stay in touch seems to work out well. Jerry Kolber
