Thanks for visiting!
You may have noticed that Technorati has been made over in the last week or so. Gotta say I like the new look.
Check out what they have to say about the refreshed www.technorati.com.
Here is a good take away from the announcement:
We’ve also worked really hard at making our user interface simpler, and more intuitive. We’ve been spending months doing user testing, and listening to you, our users, collecting and prioritizing what you wanted, what you liked, and what you hated about Technorati. We haven’t gotten it 100% right yet, and we’re going to keep working hard to improve, but I think we’ve made a big step forward with this launch.
Well said, David! Read more
CREEating Value - 11 April 2007
April 11, 2007
CREEating Value - Periodically (in theory about once a week) I go through my feed reader and pull out a few gems that bring value to you as a business blogger.
With over 70 million blogs out there finding a few that are worthy of making it to your feed reader can be a challenge. So I’m trying to make that a little easier by pointing out some great blogs that I have in my reader that you may or may not have seen yet.
So without further ado, here are this week’s juicy finds.
Enjoy!
CrossLoop - Bringing People Closer (feed) - Here’s a company that has done a good job of leveraging their blog to get the word out about their business. CrossLoop is a service that allows for secure screen sharing between two computers in remote locations. It’s a handy application that has lots of different uses. If they didn’t have a blog, I wouldn’t have heard about it yet.
Sifry’s Alerts (feed) - David Sifry is the founder and CEO of Technorati, which if you don’t yet know has long been a great tool to track incoming links for your blog. His blog is where I pick up tid-bits like the fact that there are more than 70 million blogs out there. He also dropped a bit of a shocker last week when he announced that he’s looking for a replacement for himself in the CEO position of the company he founded.
The Weather Channel: Savannah Weather Outlook (feed) - OK so this last one is obviously not a blog. And it is a bit silly. But my point is this. There are a lot of non blogging web sites out there that are incorporating RSS into their websites. If I want to find out what to expect with my local weather, I can just go to my feed reader and click on a link. Bing. I’m there.
No going to the Weather Channel site, wading through their over the top obnoxious ads, putting in my location and all that. Makes finding out the weather much easier. (And it’s about the only thing that keeps me coming back to their site. They’ve got about the most intrusive ads of anywhere I go. The ones with sound are the worst!)
