CREEating Value – 3 May 2007

CREEating Value – Periodically (in theory about once a week) I go through my feed reader and pull out a few gems that bring value to you as a business blogger.

CREEating Value ButtonWith over 70 million blogs out there finding a few that are worthy of making it to your feed reader can be a challenge. So I’m trying to make that a little easier by pointing out some great blogs that I have in my reader that you may or may not have seen yet.

So without further ado, here are this week’s juicy finds.

Enjoy!

Michael Stelzner’s Writing White Papers (feed) – Michael Stelzner has created a great resource in his blog with tons of tips that will make anyone’s writing better. His focus is on business writing, white papers and freelance writing. As a blogger I have several writing resources in my feed reader and Michael’s blog is one of the best.

Duct Tape Marketing (feed) – John Jantsch’s Duct Tape Marketing blog was started back in August 2003. In blogging terms that means it has been around just about forever. You want some help marketing your business? There’ s probably a half a dozen books worth of information in the archives here alone. Subscribe and learn for free.

Homeless Family’s Blog (feed) – A blog by a guy who lived out on the streets with his entire family might seem a strange choice for business bloggers to read. But John writes with such passion about his city and the homeless issue there that he can teach us all how to get a little more emotional and empathetic with our writing. John writes hard hitting posts about life that is happening right now, and it isn’t always pretty. But it is definitely worth subscribing to.

For those of you who are wondering about my low profile since I’ve been back in town, I am just trying to catch up with things at my day job from being away for a week unexpectedly. And that before I take off again next week for SOBCon.

Yes the conference is only a little more than a week away!

Hmmmm. Synchronicity is all around me these days, Chris. Homeless Family’s Blog spoke loud and clear. Actually, I think it’s a great blog for anyone, business blogger or not, to read; life is multi-faceted and some of those facets need more attention than others.

Michael – Glad to share your good stuff with everyone I can. :)

Carolyn – Funny how that happens at times. John is a top notch guy, the real deal. I hope to get a chance to meet him face to face on one of my many trips to his fair city.

Tariq – I don’t feel like I’m completely back yet. But at least I’m starting to get my head back above water (or maybe at least one nostril!) :)

    Chris,

Honestly, the only thing I can say is thank you. There isn’t any way I can describe the feeling I have in what you said.

Enjoy the moment of silence while you can before I put the sound of Tom Jones in the back of your mind, singing “It’s Not Un YOU Suuuuallll”.

    Thanks again, wholeheartedly.

John, Keep doing what you are doing. The world needs people like you making a difference out there!

And like I told Carolyn, I am looking forward to the day when we can connect face to face down there in your town. :)
