Wanted to shout out to y’all and let you know about a few minor changes to SuccessCREEations that I’ve been working on this morning.
- Recent Readers
- If you take a gander at the right side bar you will notice that I added a new feature that shows Recent Readers. This little dealie is powered by MyBlogLog and if you have an account over there then when you stop by you’ll see your lovely mug show up on my side bar. I thought you might like to see some of the other folks who hang out in our little corner of the web.
- New Library Section
- Since we’ve talked about motivation as an ingredient for success I went ahead and added a link in the left side bar to the Motivational books I’ve added to our library. I talked about doing that a while back but finally got around to it this morning.
- And, while we are on the subject of the Library, I added some explanation on the Library Main Page to point out that folks can click on the books to order them directly from Amazon.com. I also wanted to let those folks who may not know that Amazon.com will send me a few cents if they go that route, and how they can get the books if they feel funny about clicking on someone’s affiliate link. I had explained all that in the post that introduced the library. But I didn’t think to add it to the Library proper. That particular over site has now been remedied.
- Blog Honor Badge
- I was reminded to put info about my Amazon.com affiliation in the Library because I found a site that addresses honorable affiliation linking. BlogKits.com has posted a pledge along these lines that I thought was worthy of linking to on their Blog Honor page. I see transparency in the web as a good thing and something that I want to be a part of. Our integrity is important. At this point I am not really interested in BlogKit’s affiliate program. But their commitment to integrity is something that I applaud. So I added the Blog Honor Badge over at my left side bar.
- Ditched the Calender
- Does anyone ever click on the calender widget on folks blogs? I never do. I’ve been meaning to get rid of the one here for a long time but never got around to it. This morning I did. It’s gone. And I don’t think it will be missed. (Bye!)
- Not Yet Implemented
- I want to add a popular posts section on my side bar like I have over at CREEations but I am have a bear of a time getting the stinking widget to format correctly when I add the code for the plugin. It is driving me a bit nuts. I may have to come up with some other way to do the same thing. But for now I am taking a break from that one before I toss my computer through the window of my study!
That’s the changes for now. But as I’ve said before this whole endeavor is a work in progress. I expect there will be other changes coming our way as I make my way down life’s road.
I’m kinda looking forward to the adventure.
